President Trump goes to war with NFL and NBA athletes

President Trump goes to war with NFL and NBA athletes

President Trump said Stephen Curry is no longer invited to Washington to celebrate the Warrior's NBA title hours after the athlete announced he did not want to visit the White House.
“Going to the White House is considered a great honor for a championship team,” he tweeted Saturday morning. “Stephen Curry is hesitating, therefore invitation is withdrawn!”
Trump's tweet prompted the Golden State Warriors to issue a statement saying that none of Curry's teammates would visit the White House, instead using their February visit to Washington, D.C. celebrating "equality, diversity and inclusion-the values that we embrace as an organization."
Three-time NBA champion and Cleveland Cavaliers player LeBron James was one of the first to fire back at Trump on behalf of the Golden State Warrior.
"U bum [Curry] already said he ain't going! So therefore ain't no invite," he tweeted."Going to the White House was a great honor until you showed up."
Trump followed up with another Tweetlater in the day, adding what appeared to be a subtle jab at former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick to his weekend sports tirade.
"If a player wants the privlege of making millions of dollars in the NFL or other leagues, he or she should not be allowed to disrespect our Great American Flag (or Country) and should stand for the National Anthem. If not, YOU'RE FIRED. Find something else to do!" Trump wrote.
Curry, who has long been critical of Trump and his administration, said during a press conference Friday night that he was strongly against heading to D.C. and that he would tell his team as much when they discussed the matter.

President Trump does not want the Warriors' Stephen Curry to join him in the White House to celebrate the team's championship. He also took to Twitter to complain that those NFL players 'making million's should be fired if they choose to disrespect America.

“I don’t want to go,” he said bluntly.
“That’s kind of the nucleus of my belief... (But) it’s not just me going to the White House. If it was, this would be a pretty short conversation."
Trump's tweet came just moments after Fox News' coverage of Curry's comments
